Barmy Army - will be cheering Simon on.

By Simon Wilkes

I've got two mates who are going to be in the thick of the Barmy Army during the five Tests Down Under - and they will be sending us anecdotes as they watch Freddie and co take on the Aussies.

They're both flying tonight (Thursday) and are on the same flight as David Lloyd (one of the lads works for Sky Sports so knows this) - but as a taster of things to come he's given me this gem to start with.

Sadly the man in question is not myself - I'd happily do this forfeit if it meant I was watching the action in Oz rather than our lovely Leeds office...

A mad-keen Aussie cricket supporter named Simon had a bet last year that England would not win the Ashes - how wrong he was.

As a consequence of this bet he has to walk across the Birkenhead Bridge in Port Adelaide at 5pm in nothing but a pair of Union Jack underpants.

Many of the local business and people from the community will be there to see him take this "Walk of Shame".

If anyone is interested in witnessing this event and cheering Simon on, it will take place the day before the Adelaide Test.
